Tamra, Greg, Jeff and Dave attended the Leon Township zoning meeting, along with a couple other township board members. They are also concerned about solar. Goal is to protect our ag land. Leon also had discussed a cannabis retail operation in their township, but it appears the four cannabis permits have already been filled. The zoning board will change their meeting date to the 3rd Tuesday of the month and plan to meet in April.
Road Updates: Kerry did some road maintenance then changed over to snow equipment. During the blizzard on March 15, the grader got hit by a vehicle at the intersection of 40 Acre Trail and Hwy 57. There was a small amount of damage to the grader but the vehicle may need to be totaled. No one was hurt and a State Trooper was on site. An accident report will need to be filed with MATIT. There was a lot of snow that had to be moved. Kerry also got stuck on 410th St. while trying to clear the road. Tamra spoke with Steve McNamara about a final bill from Belle Creek. There was discussion concerning the driveway at Daniel Kish’s. In construction they buried the old culvert. This will need to be checked out. Spraying for spring was addressed. Just mowing the ditches will not be enough to get rid of the weeds. Matt Voxland had given Tom a heads up that the hill on 60th Ave by Steve Sviggum’s was very icy.
Rae Rusnak had contacted Tom about signs for 408th and 70th at the intersection. She stated she has lost customers. Tamra had also received an email from Rae saying she talked to Tom last fall about this issue. She also requested a private drive sign but Tamra told her that shouldn’t be up to the township to purchase. It was thought we could use the 408th St. Way sign and just remove the Way. Kerry will order a 70th Ave sign.
No updates on the 60th Ave culvert.
The Spring Officers Training scheduled for March 17 in Rochester was postponed. No new date yet.
